Nick “Pumpkin” Alvarado, touched thousands of people with his signature music productions and acclaimed DJ sets at top music festivals and clubs across the US and abroad. He tragically passed away in early 2016, but his generous spirit and magical music will continue to live on.

To honor his memory, Nick’s best friend and Little Giants production partner, Evan “Everyman” Shafran, started The Little Giant Acorn Foundation for The Arts, a non-profit organization that helps children get started in music or the performing arts who otherwise could not afford to do so. Nick absolutely loved to share his passion for music and performance art with the next generation and nothing gave him more joy.

By purchasing the new LITTLE GIANTS LIMITED EDITION 7" VINYL you are helping to ensure that Nick’s spirit continues to shine while ensuring that the next generations of “little acorns” have the means to pursue their creative passions.

You won’t find this vinyl anywhere else. It was always a dream of Nick's to have a record of his own. It serves as a symbol to our community that Nick “Pumpkin” Alvarado will never be forgotten and to always let your light shine bright. <3

    Little Giants - Don't Quit

All songs by EVeryman and Pumpkin.
    All beats by Pumpkin.

Los Angeles based producer Nick Alvarado and vocalist EVeryman have teamed to form Little Giants, who aim to make proper hip-hop music for your mind, body and soul. Pairing inspired, thought-provoking lyrics set over crisp, funky beats, the sounds of Little Giants harken back to the golden era of hip-hop.

After their initial collaboration on the track, “Good Day,” off the debut EP from Alvarado’s popular alias, Pumpkin, the duo bonded over a mutual love for the classic hip-hop they grew up listening to from the likes of, A Tribe Called Quest, the Beastie Boys and Jurassic 5, along with each spending endless hours crate-digging for old records to sample. In tribute to those sounds that shaped their youth, they teamed up for the well-received, “EVery Summer Mixtape,” which saw the duo further demonstrate their strong creative chemistry with a fresh mix comprised of classic hip-hop beats expertly reconstructed by Alvarado which paired with all-new vocals from EVeryman.

On the debut Little Giants album, “Don’t Quit,” Alvarado and EVeryman have created a strong opening statement comprised of all original tracks that will have you reaching to turn the volume up while singing along to EVeryman’s catchy choruses.

Track Name: DON'T QUIT
Start the tape now at this present time
Shit hits the fan now start the rhyme
Thoughts flood the mind like right brain and left
Keep focus forward take note like a clef

Couples are two the intelligent few
thrice is like magic, four equals two
search for a mate, for a lover, for a friend
fight, flee or fuck, life comes to an end

capacity reached, see, journey of the soul
compute, understand, see the holes like a mole
repair what is broken, leave lone what's intact
a result of your actions, karma's a fact.

there is no going back. (x7)

---------
HOOK
---------

but here we are back for more again
twist homo sapien abstract yoga trends
past and future combined this present state
undone sweater unwinds, minds contemplate

medal of honor, dry eyes as people ponder
see there's no place like home, but still people wander
right back where we started, right back to the beginnin'
it's time that we unite, mom said no quittin'

what the world needs is people who've come alive
let go of inhibitions and put it in drive
surrender to the path that grabs you inside
then you'll never have regrets 'cause you'll always have tried

Love, Light live and shine
Release all your positive residing inside
tap into your pineal the third eye vision
see the way to do it and then start livin'

Track Name: MUSIC BE THE MOVEMENT
HOOK:
i used to be a fat kid, now i'm just a rap kid
lovin' every day, i'm livin' larger than an atlas
all across the map spit, cities i spread fat shit
music be the movement, we changin' rather rapid
-----------

i'm in my prime like optimus, whack mc's just pop to this
transform like voltron, you know there ain't no stoppin' this
rock like gibraltar, for all the populous
like a dalmatian 'cause we always rockin' spots n shit

know your place if you want to battle
we amongst the best, y'all herd it like cattle
beats rattle like a snake, never comin' fake
leave you battered and abused like the earth when it shakes

we never know losin', beware when we break
like the dawn, the rhythms be rare like steak
hear the sound of trumpets, we be sounding the horn
music sets the soul free, that's our word is bond

people we not stuck, we keep keepin' on,
the music be the movement, the movement be the song
it's like hip hop music be rockin' spots
like dalmatians and hot like lava rocks

---------
HOOK
---------

i'm a rebel with a cause, i'm out to drop some jaws
every time that EVeryman is on the mic i get applause
relax and take a pause, like comma, impress y'alls
all the people shoutin' "yo EV, we want some more"

the trick is not to hold on, it is to let go
then it is to move on, every day improve on
reach your goals and keep on and then you just say
you motivate, collaborate like every single day

you educate, and never hesitate
trust your inner self, and love your given wealth
don't you ever quit, and when you're sick of it
we come around the bend again and then we conquer it

Bang a boomerang o' slang, have ya sang a dang my mang?
Not here to play the blame game again, watch the way we play to win,
haters gonna hate again. doesn't matter, we just grin.
music has a way to clean the slate for them.

---------
HOOK
---------

(break)

speak the speech i pray like every single day like
living out your dreams like night into daylight
we're here to fight the good fight, but not fight the war
the movement of the music, dance together, now some more
speak the speech i pray like every single day like
living out your dreams like night into daylight
we're here to fight the good fight, but not fight the war
little giants won't be ignored.
Track Name: AVERAGE JOES
Average Joes

read the signs like the lines on the page
flip the script like an actor, we been at this shit for days
so amazed at the way that things have changed
no charades, out with glory, in with a blaze

trick or treat, the rhyme scheme's neat
the beat be funky, the dj be sweet
come what may, the hip hop stay
got you dancin and bromancin' and we're lovin everyday

chip chop chip chop, i want some hip hop
hurry up and get it done, before the clock go tick-tock
psycho like hitchcock, trippin on a flip flop
our music make you feel in shape, so some may call it tip-top

my pen sinks ships, the ink cracks whips
check the way music makes you move your hips
enhance your trip , quench with each sip
when this hip hop sound comes around you bump that shit

-------
I love a banjo fo show as we slide like dobro
whoa bro, step into my hip hop dojo
tae kwon do as i kick this flow
'cause our style shows we're no average joes
--------

i'm out here embarking, hafta laugh at the malarky,
your energy sparked me, i don't speak farsi
but i see far, see, see what mean?
let's stay close like a tree and its bark be.

my bark ain't close to my bite,
sometimes might bite lines but i always rhyme tight
know to put up a fight when the goin' gets tough
give me a pen and i'll write and i'll eliminate fluff

'cause i edit my lines like we're clearing the sample
gimme a pen and a mic and i'll lead by example
never get trampled by ineloquent elephants
these herds of haters are whack and irrelevant

i'm not a playwright, but i write and play
i'm known to play with words and put 'em up on display
i'm known to rock a rhyme for the kids to say
there's so many ways to love, so let's start today, k?

-------

--------

time tickin', rhyme kickin, buckets and cans
unique lines we find fittin, rockin the jam
some of it's planned, and some off the top
shakin up the bubbles, make the bottle go pop

i got a bottle o' whiskey, a bottle o' rye
i'm feelin' quite frisky, i ain't gonna lie
you keep tryin' to diss me and i'm wonderin' why
'cause i never do battles, i'm too nice of a guy

life can be risky and i'm tellin' you why,
'cause one second you're up, see, the next second you die
keep rollin' the OG, Jah know we stay high
when I'm gone you can miss me, until then please stand by

exercise your mind, utililze your time
help your fellow human, everyman deserves a try
don't follow in a line, create your own design
as the circles intertwine the destination is divine

Track Name: PORTRAIT OF SELF
Portrait of self

-------
this self portrait i paint from the pleasure and the pain
no two sides of any story are ever the same
i've weathered the storms, the thunder and the rain
and made sunshine from clouds on the grayest of days
------

i paint a picture of self, it's the portion i portray
'cause my side of the story is seen in my way
you got your own version of everything that's happened
we can weather the storm and make the sunshine happen.

when i look in the mirror, now i see a different man
each and everyday wiser while i'm living out my plan
people take a stand, never cracking under pressure
our portrait of self, see what we lack and make it better

i'm han solo flyin' millennium falcon,
i'm captain kirk killing khan, i'm macbeth, i'm malcolm
i'm hamlet, i'm spam, shit, i'm kick the can plannin'
sporadic, acrobatic, spastic, drastic, i'm plastic
i'm shaggy boombastic,
i'm mr. fantastic, mr. clean, i'm wax lit,
i'm everyman and everyone that ever outlasted
now remember who you are, and reach out and grasp it.

---------

fair warning - this door swings without a hinge
a contradiction, this spiral ends where it begins
king fantastic, sarcastic wax top with a crooked spin
fables and fiction, a monkey tap dancing on the fringe

listen to every word i say and hear nothing
read between the syllables, syntax and facts mean nothing
leave the ish and isms and assumptions at the door
i came to play the game with no intention of keeping score
and what's more is i can see beyond the seas from these heights
high enough to forget the restless days and sleepless nights
when we used to have to fight with both fists to stay in it
a tiny acorn; a forest of oak trees within it

now we're caught somewhere between a lock of hair and a scarred face
lost and scared, stuck between a rock and a hard place
unprepared and somewhat unaware that this big ball is spinning
grinning ear to ear but steering clear of any new beginnings
this is the seventh inning stretch, so take a breather and relax
and don't forget to get the one that got you back
then get to gettin' on before what you have is gone forever
seems so simply genius, but believe, it's only slightly clever

they say never say never, but they just said it twice
why do i come up snake-eyes when i can't even grip the dice?
oh wait, my mistake, forget the snake, i meant die
death, a final breath, eternal rest - is this goodbye?
you can try and try to make believe but you can't deny
the magnetism, the gravity, the power in a slice of pi
and isn't it strange to think that when we're all long gone
this big ball will keep on spinning and the get-to-gettin' will go on...

this self portrait i paint from the pleasure and pain
no two sides of any story are ever the same
i've weathered the storms, the thunder and rain
and made sunshine from clouds on the grayest of days
Track Name: NEW YORK BAGEL
HOOK
---------
We got a whole lotta hip with a dollop of hop
guaranteed to blow up but we never go pop
unless we pop-lockin' or lockin' it down
like a New York bagel, we're the best aROUND.
--------

Well I write a lot of things, I'd really like to right some wrongs
So I came to sing this song in hopes of moving life along
beat's bangin' like a gong and smashin' like a cymbal
you be quick, jack, out the box, and i'll be nimble

Midas touchin' on your ears like we're hittin' lotto
Non stoppin' with the knowledge to your temples staccato
our hip hop stampedes and intercedes evil deeds
where most rap these days stagnates, we proceed

proceed to rock a mic, rock a party, rock a cradle
rock the boat, hell, i'll even rock a turntable
rock a chair, rock a where?, rock a tale or a fable
oy vey, even known to rock and spin a dradle

you be rockin' zoo york, i be rockin' jew york
star of david on my chain, my style be "smooth dork"
smooth like meltin' butter on my morning toast
not from new york, so i just say "east coast"

---------
We got a whole lotta hip with a dollop of hop
guaranteed to blow up but we never go pop
unless we pop-lockin' or lockin' it down
like a New York bagel, we're the best aROUND.
--------

we may be little giants, but we ain't no oxymorons
the music be amazin', it's the path that we were born on
lyrical stylings plus the beats that you're adorin'
old school, new school, all genres worth explorin'

not a rapper like the rest, really i'm a lyricist
when i say a dope rhyme, you be hearin' it
i'm an optimist, never mess with the bull
i'm never half empty, i call it half full

from skid row to the valley, no time to dilly dally
for several years now, been rhyming over cali
not for a salary, but simply for the love
fierce like a lion, playful as a cub

we face off like gretsky, travolta or cage
never work too hard but always earn my wage
flip it like a page or a script or a pancake
spark it like a clam bake and do it for our fans sake

---------
We got a whole lotta hip with a dollop of hop
guaranteed to blow up but we never go pop
unless we pop-lockin' or lockin' it down
like a New York bagel, we're the best aROUND.
--------

from jfk to lax my mikes get checked
from coast to coast i rock it most times, no sweat
from me to you, hear what we do and never forget
now's the time, fall out of line and take your first step

fee, fi, fo, fum,
i smell hip hop and i want some
and i spy with my little eye
two turntables spinnin' records so fly

fly like an eagle, or soar like a pigeon
lay it on thick, or give you just a smidgeon
a little dab'll do ya, all you have to do is listen
the music be the movement, little giants on a mission

frodo has his ring, everyman has his thing
mine's the the music that we bring and the songs i've come to sing
i mic check 1,2 i eat, sleep and breathe rap
hip hop's not dead, it was taking a weed nap

---------

Little giants (EVAN - nick)

--------
Well we be little like giants
Who like to fiddle with thoughts
We don't belittle the people
Because we love them a lot

We make a riddle of rhyme
We like to mettle with minds
We be those pocket size partners
with a dash of divine...
--------

A little bit of something can go a long way
when our music be bumping It's a giant display.
Grab a record to sample, the sounds be ample today.
We're an example of what happens when two kids start to play.

See I got something to say but my thought lost its train
Well I can pick up the slack And you should try and maintain
I can mop up my brain And you can sweep up the flow
And together we'll proceed to give these people a show

Well whaddaya know,
Don't hear no fat lady singin
This show ain't over til your ear drums ringin.
because the style that we bring is tried & true,
Our mission is to make honest hip hop for you.

So what can we do to put that pep in your step?
our music always guaranteed to strengthen your rep.
Put you in check. Well, what the heck.
I'm Everyman I got my man pumpkin on deck.

We don't belittle the people
Because we love them a lot

We make a riddle of rhyme
We like to mettle with minds
We be those pocket size partners

--------

Well, I may not be tall, but I'm big in Japan
shit, Mugsy Bogues looks down on me, m' man
And from where I stand, I may as well be soaring
Our vibrations gigantic, and well worth exploring

we could be small as an ant, or big just for the hell of it
our antics pedantic, and often irrelevant
our flow's never frantic, we endure all the elements
rockin spots from microscopic to the size of an elephant

We come to muddle the trouble
and melt it down to a puddle
and put a muzzle on the mouths of
people burstin' our bubble

I got a shovel, a bucket
I got a dollar, a ducket
I got a truck full o' muck
You said to dig it, I dug it

i said i ams what i ams when iambic pentameter
we rhymes like shakespeare, within no parameters
your style's so old, like a gramma, an amateur
your grammar is stammered, and you come with no stamina

--------
